XTM build mistakes or blunders!!!!

by Chuck
(Fulton NY)

First of all if your using standard 6 cell batteries you will find there is not enough room on plate below , and it will have to be modified.

After driving it a few times you will notice the 4 link mounts getting loose after tightening them up 3 or 4 times you will notice the plastic bushings are bulged and out of round due to the stress and leverage at this particular point. I used metal tubing to replace this blunder.

Last of all the axles are way to low and will get scared badly from rocks its an ok machine but the engineers are not rock crawlers or they would not have made these simple but troublesome mistakes.

If you want to design a crawler that would knock the socks off the comp contact me an average rock crawler with a mechanical degree and 30 years experience in the mechanical field. ff12064@aol.com
