Traxxas's™ Revo 2.5R is one amazing monster truck.
Since its release in 2004 the Revo 2.5R has been winning races and awards, not to say one of the biggest followings of any rc monster truck.
When Traxxas™ released the Revo 2.5R in 2004 it revolutionized the rc monster truck world.
What Traxxas™ engineers accomplished was develop a monster truck that was durable, fast and easy to operate. The Revo 2.5R is full of features that has never been seen, used or combined on one rc vehicle before.
Do You Have a Tip or How-To or Review of Your Rc Monster Truck Would you like to share it with others!!
What Traxxas™ did was to create a rc monster truck with a low center of gravity, excellent handling and suspension articulation that is still the envy of many rc monster trucks today.
What the Revo 2.5R is a rc monster truck that is agile and fast on the race track while at the same time more than tough enough to withstand all punishment and abuse the backyard basher to going to dish out!!
So what is so different about the Revo 2.5R that even in today's market makes it unique.
Let start off by looking at the chassis, while all other rc monster trucks use either a flat chassis design or twin vertical plates the Revo 2.5R features a monocoque chassis.
With this chassis design the Revo 2.5R can achieve a very low center of gravity while maintaining a large amount of suspension travel, both upward and downward, and ground clearance. The chassis lay out is much different than any other rc monster truck.
The shocks and transmission are mounted on/or near the center line of the chassis, while the engine, servos battery/receiver box and fuel tank are mounted on the sides as inward as possible.
Besides being mounted outward on the chassis all these components are leaned toward the center of the chassis, thus moving the center of gravity towards the center line. This chassis lay out will produce a rc monster truck that handles and performs like no other monster truck on the market.
The horizontal shock configuration on the Revo 2.5R is not exactly new, but they are mounted farther inward and on a geometric plane that is completely different from any other rc monster truck.
This shock configuration allows the shocks to be out of harms way. These horizontally mounted shocks are much better protected from crashes, rocks and debris than shocks that are vertically mounted.
Combine the horizontal shocks, Traxxas's™ advanced rocker system and long suspension arms and the Revo-2.5R has more suspension travel than any other rc monster truck on the market.
The amount of suspension travel on the Revo is not limited to the length of the shocks. By installing the optional (that are included) long travel rockers you can increase suspension travel to over 120mm (4.72"). While the stock Progressive 1 rockers allow 90mm (3.54") of overall suspension travel.
At first glance the suspension arms seem to minus any mass, but in engineering the Revo 2.5R suspension arms Traxxas™ designed an all new composite material to use in building the suspension arms.
Even though these arms seem light weight they are extremely strong. To add even more strength to the overall suspension design all rod ends are completely surrounded. By surrounding both ends of the rod ends, both on the rocker/cantilever and suspension arm adds a tremendous amount of durability, plus Traxxas™ has also surrounded both ends of the shocks.
If nothing else Traxxas™ has designed the Revo-2.5R to withstand the punishment of huge jumps and crashes.
The list of features on the Revo 2.5R is almost endless. With it featuring a two speed auto-shift transmission, limited slip differentials, Limited-Control® slipper clutch, super-duty sealed drive shafts, EZ-Start® electric start and OptiDrive® electronic shift module to just name a few of the features.

If nothing else Traxxas™ engineers have designed and built a rc monster truck that is both tough and fast. The Revo-2.5R is capable of speeds will over 40mph, while at the same time it exhibits excellent handling characteristics.
While the Revo-2.5R has been on the market for many years and in the near future it may no longer be available it will remain one of the most popular Rc Monster Trucks ever built.
But do not fear that a Revo will no longer be available the Revo 3.3 is going to be on the market for many more years.
So, if you are looking for a rc monster truck that is fast and is capable of running on many different types of terrains the Revo could be the truck for you!!
