Enjoying the hobby to it's fullest

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share something I noticed after coming back from an awesome run with my monster truck. I have 3 RC vehicles, a 2WD nitro stadium truck, a 2WD electric short course truck, and a 4WD nitro monster truck. All are off road vehicles but cannot cover the same terrain due to size, 2WD, wheel diameter and width, etc. I've found that to fully enjoy an RC vehicle you should run it in it's proper element. For me it has made a world of difference. For example, around my house there is only concrete within walking distance, and driving my stadium truck up and down the street is pretty boring no matter how fast you go. A friend and I discovered an improvised track at a 4WD custom shop, we took our stadium trucks and ran it one day and it was like having a whole new vehicle. The jumps and turns alerted us to suspension tuning issues and opened up new challenges and allowed us to see the full potential of our vehicles. I took my monster truck to White Sands New Mexico on a family trip. The endless smooth dunes and other jumps presented the most fun I've ever had with that vehicle. My short course only sank into the sand going up most dunes, I did find some hard packed areas with jumps and berms that were pretty cool, though.
My point is, until you run your RC vehicles on the terrain they were designed to conquer, you're only experiencing a small part of the fun and enjoyment that can be had. Look for opportunities to take your RC cars and trucks to places you've never been before, different parking lots, camping, on road trips to grandma's house, whatever. It will be well worth the trouble, believe me.
