The Cobalt round wire modified electric rc motor is build for speed. The flat wire Cobalt is designed for high torque to be used on short tight tracks. While the round wire Cobalt motors are designed for high RPM and wide open fast tracks with no slow corners. The only difference between the Cobalt round wire and the flat wire is the type of wire used to build the motors. The round wire motors are for speed and the flat wire motors are for torque.
